ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A rider-controlled working machine such as a tractor for agricultural use has a pair of front wheels and a pair of rear wheels mounted on front and rear portions, respectively, of a vehicle body, an engine for driving the front and rear wheels, and a steering wheel and a driver's seat disposed on a longitudinal central line of the vehicle body and located respectively in intermediate and rear positions in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. The front and rear wheels are substantially equal in diameter. The output shaft of the engine is partly positioned within an outer profile of the front wheels as seen in side elevation. A steering link mechanism interlinks the front and rear wheels for steering the front and rear wheels simultaneously. Power transmission devices are disposed between the front wheels and between the rear wheels. Each power transmission device has a power pickup shaft extending substantially horizontally in the transverse direction of the vehicle body. Hitches are pivotally mounted on the vehicle body for angular movement about axes concentric with the power pickup shafts.
