18 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Industrial process control system comprising a control computer, peripherals controlled by the control computer, a plurality of transducers for obtaining information on the state of the process, a plurality of actuators for modifying the state of the process, together with an interface computer monitoring the state of the process, the control computer being able to operate under the following modes: parametrizing mode for producing within the system a representation of the process to be controlled, performance mode for controlling the process in accordance with its representation, simulation mode for testing the system in the absence of connected transducers and actuators, and history mode for the off-line analysis of the signal supplied by the transducers in the performance mode.
