Abstract of the disclosure: The present invention relates to a process for obtaining diterpenes of the labdane type, in particular forskolin, from cell cultures of Coleus forskohlii. The process comprises transferring the cell cultures from a mainten- ance medium into an induction medium which differs from the maintenance medium in respect of, in particular, the phytohormone content, and the diterpenes being obtained from it, after a specific time period, by extraction with organic solvents.
