ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An optical fibre relay for switching optical signals between different signal paths contains a fixed first holder with optical fibres arranged in parallel, and a movable slide similarly with optical fibres arranged in parallel. For swit- ching, the slide can be displaced with the aid of a rigidly clamped leaf spring. Indirect actuation of the movable slide takes place via a counteracting leaf spring. An armature bracket is mounted on the armature and has a tongue engaging against the counteracting spring. When the relay is put in the make state, the tongue urges the counteracting spring downwards so that the counteracting spring bias is inhibited, whereby the rigidly clamped spring displaces the slide.
