A B S T R A C T Vapour and weather barrier means are provided for the floating roof of a storage tank. A sloping barrier between roof and tank has resilient metal plates with a wiper on the outer edge and a flexible sheet covers the outer side of the plate. The angle of the plates, when resting on said wall is greater than 45°. Upward and downward sloping barriers may be provided with the sheet covering the outside of the plates. Clips may be provided to ease sliding of the barrier over the tank wall. downwardly sloping barrier may be provided by constructing the barrier sloping upwardly on temporary clips which are removed to convert the barrier to a downward slope.
