These objects are achieved in accordance with the present invention which teaches a blend of a polycarbonate resin and an additive amount of an aromatic bis-imide compound. The composition compris- ing said blend retains a surprising degree of ductility as measured by tensile elongation and yield strength and exhibits an improvement in both tensile strength and flexural modulus.
