23443-410R ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Cross-linkable Polymer Compositions and Their Production Process The invention relates to cross-linkable compositions consisting of a binding agent and an additive which catalyses the cross-linking. The binding agent is a combination of two binding agents which are capable of cross-linking with each other. These binding agents are a polymer based on 1,3-butadiene bearing pri- mary and/or secondary hydroxyl groups and a polymer based on 1,3- butadiene bearing succinic anhydride side groups. The additive which catalyses the cross-linking is an acid esterification cata- lyst selected from the group consisting of (alkyl)benzene-sulfonic acids and paraffin sulfonic acids or is an organonitrogen base which is not acylated under the cross-linking conditions. The compositions of the invention are useful in many applications, for example as molding masses for cables or masses for the production of sealing gaskets and noise attenuators.
