Abstract Derivatives of 3-amino-1,2-propanediol of the formula Image (I) in which R11 represents polyhydroxy-lower alkyl, cycloalkyl-lower alkoxy-lower alkyl, lower alkylsulphonyl- amino bonded in the 4-position or 1-lower alkylcarbamoyl- 2-vinyl bonded in the 4-position, and alk represents a radical of the formula -CH2-CH2- or Image and salts of such compounds, processes for their manufac- ture, medicaments that contain the novel compounds, and their use as blockers of adrenergic .beta.-receptors for the treatment of Angina pectoris and heart rhythm disorders and as agents for reducing blood pressure.
