The present invention is directed to a process for obtaining available elements from seawater. The process comprises two separation steps. The first separation step comprises adjusting the seawater pH to a low pH by adding a strong acid having a sulphate ion, adding a strongly alkaline agent thereto in an amount sufficient to provide a low pH and separating precipitate deposited thereby from the filtrate. The second separation step comprises concentrating the filtrate, cooling the concentrated filtrate and separating precipitate deposited thereby. Each of the precipitates and filtrates obtained in these steps has characteristic components and can be utilized for many purposes, for example, as food additives, paint solvents, combustion aids, or alkaline agents for neutralization, etc.
