ABSTRACT The processing of thermoplastic materials by working the thermoplastic materials into a hot flat sheet. The sheet material is first deformed or scored into a series of parallel strands that are intercon- nected by thin ribbons of the thermoplastic material thereby retaining integrity of the sheet material: the sheel material is then severed along the score line of the thin ribbons to form parallel strands which are cooled and guided to a fly cutter which cubes the strand material.
