ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a method of producing superfine powder in spherical form with a diameter of about 5 to 30 µm from metal, metal alloys or ceramics melts in a rotationally symmetrical Laval nozzle system through which a laminar flow of a propellent gas passes, molten material emerging from an aperture in a crucible within the Laval nozzle system, the molten material being melted in the crucible and, after emerging from the crucible aperture being superheated and an apparatus for use in the process.
