ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A particulate built nonionic synthetic organic detergent compo- sition, useful for washing synthetic organic polymeric fibrous materials, such as polyesters and polyester-cotton blends and imparting to them soil release properties, while maintaining them comfortable to a wearer and not preventing vapor transmission through them, includes amounts in certain ranges of percentages of nonionic synthetic organic detergent, builder or mixture of builders for such detergent, and a polymer of poly- ethylene terephthalate and polyoxyethylene terephthalate of a molecular weight in the range of about 15,000 to 50,000 made from polyethylene glycol and a polyoxyethylene glycol or similar material of a molecular weight in the range of about 1,000 to 10,000 and in which the molar ratio of ethylene terephthalate to polyoxyethylene terephthalate units is within the range of 2:1 to 6:1. Also disclosed are processes for manufacturing such compositions and processes for washing laundry with them.
