ABSTRACT This invention relates to an air-cushion vehicle which is fully operational and efficient in at least three different modes of operation, namely, as a waterborne air-cushion vehicle, as what is termed a wing-in- ground effect vehicle, and as a fully aerodynamic aircraft. The vehicle has a flat, rigid platform and a plurality of rigid walls attached substantially at right angles thereto and depending therefrom. A plurality of longitudinally- spaced laterally-aligned arrays of flexible trough-shaped skirts are fastened via each longitudinal edge thereof with respect to the underside of said platform. A source of pressurized air communicates via apertures to the inter- iors of said skirts and, at a relatively lower pressure, to a plurality of open-bottomed air cushion chambers each bounded by an adjacent pair of said skirts and by an adjacent pair of said walls. The vertical dimension of each flexible trough-shaped skirt is adjustable by remote-control means while the vehicle is operating.
