Abstract of the disclosure: The present invention relates to an effective and energy- saving process for the work-up of a trioxane mixture, in which the trioxane mixture is subjected to a crystalli- zation in a closed system, preferably in several steps and with exclusion of moisture and the presence of an inert gas, the crystallization being carried out at least partially as melt crystallization. The trioxane thus puri- fied provides polyoxymethlenes of high molecular weight.
