A pulp dryer screen assembly including a rectangular screen and a rectangular frame having four interconnected, elongated frame members and a method of tightly mounting the screen in the frame. There are four support members, each support member being adjacent a frame member and aligned therewith. The screen has a taut inner portion and edge portions clamped between the frame members and adjacent support members. The inner portion of the screen has a pulp fibre collecting surface which faces in one direction and extends along a plane. The frame and support members are entirely on a side of the plane opposite that one direction. Preferably the frame members are square tubes and the support members are Z-sections. The screen is mounted within the frame by placing it within the frame with edge portions overlying the frame. The support members are placed over the edge portions. Opposite support members are drawn away from each other so the edge portions of the screen are clamped between the support members and the screen. The support members are then connected to the frame.
