MAGNETIC ROLL FOR COPY MACHINES AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME Abstract of the Disclosure A magnetic roll for electro-photographic copy machines is provided with a carrier to which strip- shaped permanent magnetic components are fastened in an axial direction. Recesses are provided in the carrier having a cross-section larger than the magnetic components so as to permit selective radial, tangential and pivotal movement for universal positioning of the components within the recess. The components are selectively oriented to provide a predetermined induction value as measured at a predetermined distance outwardly of the carrier or with respect to adjacent poles as determined by discretely located Hall probes. The permanent magnetic components are fixed in the prescribed orientation by an injection moldable plastic material such as a plastic foam.
