ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Disclosed and claimed are new cyclohexenone derivatives of the formula Image where R1 is hydrogen, metoxycarbonyl, ethoxycarbonyl or methyl, R2 is alkyl, R3 is alkyl, alkenyl, haloalkenyl, or propargyl, R4 is hydrogen or alkyl, R5 is acyl, formyl, cycloalkylcarbonyl, methoxyalkylcarbonyl or unsubstituted or substituted benzoyl, and R6 is alkyl, halogen, hydroxyl, alkoxy, alkenyloxy, alkynyloxy, alkylthio, alkylsulfinyl, alkylsulfonyl, nitro or amino, and salts of these compounds, and the use of these compounds for controlling unwanted plant growth.
