A B S T R A C T PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF ORGANIC ISOCYANATES Process for the preparation of organic isocyanates by reacting an aromatic nitro compound with carbon monoxide in the presence of (a) Pd or a Pd compound, (b) a ligand of formula Image (I) in which X and Y are the same or different bridging groups each of which has 3 or 4 atoms in the bridge, of which atoms at least two are carbon atoms and which groups X and Y may be bound to each other, and (c) one or more protonic acids, except hydrohalogenic acids.
