A B S T R A C T Steroid-N-(2-halogenethyl)-N-nitroso-carbamoyl-amino acid or -peptide esters respectively of the general formula: Image where R1 and R2, which can be the same or different, are the residue of an amino acid off the beta-positioned C-atom, (if present), R3 is the residue of a steroid or of a pharmacologically similarly effective stilbene-derivative, n is a number from 0-5 and Hal is chlorine or fluorine, as well as the method for the preparation of the same by reacting an appropriate carbamoyl-amino acid or a -peptide in conventional manner with steroid alcohols or reacting steroid-amino acid- or -peptide esters with corresponding N- nitroso-carbamoylizing agents or corresponding N-nitroso-carbamoyl- amino acids or -peptides in a conventional manner. The esters of the invention have been found to be effective in certain forms of cancer chemotherapy.
