ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Disclosed is a coal gasification installation comprising a reactor for the gasification of powdered coal on a bath of liquid iron, a cooling flue constituting a boiler connecting the outlet of the reactor to a vapour superheater fed with vapour issuing from the boiler, a dust- removing cyclone connected to the outlet of the superheater, a thermal exchanger connected to the outlet of the cyclone in which a drying fluid is heated by thermal exchange with the combustible gas, a conditioning tower connected to the outlet of the thermal exchanger, the conditioning tower being connected to a dry electrofilter which feeds a storage gasometer through a three-way valve. The heated drying fluid and the vapour issuing from the superheater are employed in the installation for preparing and conveying the fuel and the comburent fed to the reactor.
