A METHOD OF OPERATING A TELECOMMUNICATION SWITCHING SYSTEM OR THE LIKE Abstract of the Disclosure A method of operating a digital telecommunication switching system or the like. The method includes the steps of a) synchronizing the switch matrix bus framing with the input bus and the output bus; b) switching the digital signals, from timeslots in a first frame of the input bus to timeslots in a second frame of the output bus such that all the digital signals from the first frame are switched to the second frame; and c) switching in time the digital signals, carried in timeslots on the outgoing bus, to achieve a predetermined ordering of said digital signals. This single stage constant delay time switch can be cascaded to form a digital telecommunication variable bandwidth switching system. - i -
