ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A surgical strut for the treatment of a back- bone, comprising a rod having a circular cross-section, and a thrust pin provided on the rod and protruding at one side therefrom. A sleeve is mounted on the rod, this sleeve having a longitudinal cut provided with skew recesses which constitute a bearing surface for the pin. One end of said sleeve, closer to one end of said rod, has an outer surface in the form of a cone. A hook having a conical bore is mounted on said conical outer surface of said sleeve.
