ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The winder, which is more particularly of the type comprising a spring-biased tightener and is automatically locked under the control of an inertia unit, comprises a strap hub mounted on a base to be rotatable about its axis and movable in a direction perpendicular to the axis. This hub carries journals engaged in bearings which are directly or indirectly connected to the base by at least one element which is preferably in the form of a deformable and relatively elastic small bar. Application in safety belts for automobiles.
