ABSTRACT A tube which may be employed as a sound suppression device and/or an exhaust ejector in the same or separate housings has inlet and outlet ends with a constricted portion between its ends and bypass passages through the constricted portion, within the tube, to permit a portion of the gas flow therethrough to bypass the constriction. The constricted portion may be circumferentially dis- continuous, and the passages may be located between the discontinuities. The constricted portion may have a cross- sectional area that decreases to a minimum and then increases more gradually to a maximum toward the outlet end of the tube.
