ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A relatively simple device for accurately positioning pipe components for interconnection includes an inverted V-shaped base for mounting on a pipe section; and a post extending upwardly from the base for carrying a try square and holding the latter against a second pipe component such as an elbow, whereby the elbow is accurately positioned with respect to the pipe section. The post is rotatably mounted on the base, and includes an arm pivotally connected to a bottom portion of the post. A bracket on the post releasably carries the try square in a variety of use positions.
