ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A head assembly for use in connection with a disk storage unit in a digital data processing system. The head assembly maintains a bellows arrangement for loading the head, with air entrained with the disk during disk rotation filling the bellows to force the slider carrying the head into a loaded condition. The air entrained with the disk thus provides the conventional retraction force, resulting from air flow against the slider, as well as a loading force thereby ensuring balance in changes in the forces resulting from variations in speed of the air entrained with the disk.
