Abstract (in conjunction with Figure 1) Cigarette magazines consisting of several (groups of) shafts (12), in each of which cigarettes are supported in rows on top of one another, so as to be pushed out in groups at the lower end of the shafts (12). To prevent the following cigarettes from becoming jammed after a group of cigarettes has been pushed out, there is a supporting device (supporting bar 26) on which the cigarettes temporarily rest during the downward movement. The supporting member is subsequently brought out of the sup- porting position, so that the following cigarettes finally sit properly aligned on a lower rest.
