- 7 - TITLE TRAILER SECURITY LOCK INVENTORS David JARRETT and Garrye PARKS ABSTRACT A socket hitch anti-theft device and hitch stand pro- vides simultaneously a stand to hold the draft bar of a trai- ler above ground level and a snout to cover the mouth of the socket of the socket hitch; is provided with means to secu- ringly maintain the snout in juxtaposition over the mouth of the socket thereby inhibiting theft by restraining the nesting of an accommodating ball socket into the mouth and into the socket of the socket hitch. In its second position, the body is rotated essentially through approximately 180° to relocate the snout away from the mouth of the socket and to simulta- neously pivot the feet of the body piece up and above the draft bar. The socket mouth is thereby exposed so that the socket may accommodate and mate with a mating ball hitch.
