- 11 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for inserting metal cables into a hole in the rock is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of mounting on a suitable supporting structure a cable feeding apparatus comprising a main frame, a cable drive assembly mounted on the main frame for feeding a metal cable into the hole in the rock, and a cable guide mounted on the main frame for directing the cable in the direction of the hole in the rock; inserting at least one metal cable into the cable drive assembly and operating the same to pull the cable until it protrudes a predetermined distance from the cable guide; attaching an anchoring device to the end of the cable to anchor the end of the cable into the hole; activating the cable drive assembly to pull the end of the cable to the bottom of the hole; and sealing the cable into the hole.
