ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Nickel-based alloy containing chromium, iron, molybdenum, titanium and columbium in amounts specially proportioned to provide desirable strength, ductility and resistance to environmental media. Articles of the alloy are processed by cold working and age hardening to achieve yield strengths of the magnitudes of 150,000 psi (1034 MPa) and 200,000 psi (1379 MPa) accompanied by plastic ductility enabling tensile elongations such 10% to 20%. Invention provides resistance to media such as hydrogen sulphide and acid chloride solutions and to hydrogen embrittlement and is useful for, inter alia, petroleum production tubing and sulfur dioxide gas scrubbers.
