FORMER FOR FORM, FILL AND SEAL PACKAGING MACHINE ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE A form, fill and seal apparatus [10] for producing flexible containers having fitments [13] located at one end of the container. The invention provides a former [12] for folding into a tubular shape a substantially flat web of film [11] with attached fitments [13]. The former [12] includes a substantially V-shaped member [30], an elongated member [32] secured to the V-shaped member [30], and a U-shaped member [36]. The V-shaped member [30], elongated member [32], and U-shaped member [36] cooperate to fold the substantially flat web of film [11] to bring opposite longitudinal portions thereof into aligned relationship.
