ABSTRACT The invention relates to a connector assembly for use in a liquid flow system, such as a surgical drainage system, including releasably cooperable plug and socket parts, one of the parts incorporating a first valve and the other of the parts incorporating a second valve, operable to permit liquid flow between the parts when plugged together, and effectively to prevent liquid spillage from the parts when unplugged, both valves being actuated by the relative plugging and unplugging movement between the plug and socket parts, characterised in that the valves are arranged and adapted, during unplugging movement between the parts, to close in a manner which avoids the formation of any voids there- between capable of accommodating sufficient liquid to form drips. The invention also relates to a liquid flow system, such as a surgical drainage system, incorporating such a connector assembly.
