ABSTRACT According to the invention, in a first reaction step a primary phenolic component, an anhydrous aidenhyde component and polyhydroxy component are reacted. The reaction is continued while volatile reaction con- stituents are allowed to evaporate. In a second reaction step, under mildy acid conditions, a secon- dary phenolic component is reacted with the previously obtained product.
