ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to the use of 3-acylaminobenzisothiazole-S,S- dioxides of the formula I Image (I) wherein R1 is C1-C10alkyl, phenyl, or C1-C10alkyl which is substi- tuted by halogen or C1-C5alkoxy, and R2, R3, R4 and R5 are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C1-C5alkyl, C1-C5alkoxy, tri- fluoromethyl, amino or nitro, for controlling insects and represent- atives of the order Acarina. The invention further relates to novel compounds of the formula I, wherein R1 is C1-C10alkyl, phenyl, or C1-C10alkyl which is substituted by halogen or C1-C5alkoxy, and R2, R3, R4 and R5 are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C1-C5alkyl, C1-C5alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, amino or nitro, with the proviso that R2, R3, R4 and R5 are not at the same time hydrogen, as well as to the preparation of these compounds and to pesticidal compositions containing them.
