Abstract of the Disclosure Smoke particles from an initial burning of solid fuel in an appliance are electrically charged and recirculated in a controlled path and direction. Path and direction are determined by the positioning of a negative charge ionizer and one or more electrostatic device. In the final stage of recirculation the ionized smoke particles enter the path of the primary air for combustion and are carried into the heart of the fire.
