ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a filtered cigarette comprising: a cigarette holder having smoke- receiving and smoke-discharging ends; a tobacco rod having inflow and outflow ends; and means joining said cigarette holder and tobacco rod in end-to-end relation with the smoke- receiving end of said cigarette holder abutting the outflow end of the tobacco rod; wherein said cigarette holder com- prises a smoke-pervious filter rod circumscribed by a smoke impervious wrap means which is exposed to ambient environment.
