PHN 11.699 C 24.4.1986 ABSTRACT: Colour picture tube including a deflection unit having picture balance correction means. Device for displaying television pictures by means of a deflection unit placed on the neck of a colour picture tube and comprising a system of line deflection coils and a system of field deflection coils. The neck accommodates an electron gun system for producing three coplanar electron beams: a central beam and two outer beams. The system of field deflection coils is provided on the gun side with two (bent) plate-shaped elements of a soft-magnetic material located at a distance from each other in the circumferential direction of the neck of the tube which elements each have a neutral position, in which neutral positions the distance between the centres of each element and the outer beams is equally large and in which the distance between the centres of the two elements and the one outer beam can be rendered larger than the distance to the other outer beam for correcting picture balance errors.
