Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus, mounted to a vehicle, for cutting and taking out blocks from a silo fodder bin, comprising a hydraulically driven travelling gear travelling to and fro across a bridge and carrying a cutting blade, a control element for the hydraulic fluid propelling the travelling gear, which control element is connected to a hydraulic pump of the vehicle through a feed port or line and a return port or line, wherein the feed and return lines (1 and 2) are communicated with each other through another line or conduit, and that the fluid flow through said conduit is controllable for varying the speed of movement of the travelling gear.
