METHOD FOR ERASING INFORMATION ABSTRACT Disclosure is made of a method for erasing information recorded on an optical information carrier, which consists in that use is made of an optical carrier having an air- tight internal space with a recording layer available on the inner surface thereof, said internal air-tight space is filled with gas inert in relation to the material of the recording layer and to the material of the optical carrier under a pressure selected from a range of 10-103 kPa, and the optical information carrier is exposed to heat, and, after heating is discontinued, the recording layer is regenerated.
