Abstract TRIPEPTIDE INHIBITORS OF ANGIOTENSIN-CONVERTING ENZYME Peptides having the formula Image wherein R1 is hydrogen and R2 is hydroxyl, alkyl, aryl, arylalkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, aryloxy, arylthio, halogen or azido, or R1 and R2 are the same and each is hydrogen, halogen, alkoxy or alkylthio, or R1 and R2 togQther are oxo, -O-(CH2)n-O-, or -S-(CH2)n-S-, wherein n is 1 or 2; R3 is hydrogen, alkyl or trifluoromethyl; R4 is hydrogen or an acyl protecting group, and R5 is hydrogen or alkyl; are inhibitors of angiotensin converting enzyme and can be used for the treatment of hypertension in mammals.
