Mo-2597 LeA 22,617 UNSATURATED ESTER ISOCYANATES AND A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Unsaturated ester isocyanates are made by reacting a dihyrooxazine or an acid adduct thereof corresponding to specified formula(e) with phosgene in a water-immiscible solvent in the presence of an aqueous solution of a base at a temperature from -20 to 20°C. These unsaturated ester isocyanates are useful in the production of oligourethanes which are either liquid at room temperature or have a lower melt viscosity than urethanes produced from 2-isocyanatoethyl methacrylate.
