ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE 7-Deazapurine derivatives of the formula: Image (II) [wherein R1 is hydrogen atom or an acyl group and R2 and R3 are each alkyl, alkenyl or aralkyl containing a methylene group in .alpha.-position or R2 and R3 together with the adjacent nitrogen atom, form a cyclic amino group] useful for producing similar 7-Deaza- purine derivative anti-tumor agents, microbicides or disinfectants are prepared by the Mannich reaction of a compound of the formula Image (VI) with an amine of the formula HNR2R3 and formaldehyde.
