ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: In a cartridge case closed by an insert piece having a case body extending over the insert piece up to a stop of the insert piece and engaging at its over- extending end into an annular groove of the insert piece arranged in front of the stop, the insert piece has a folded-down collar extending over the case end or over- extending end of the case body. The collar encompasses at least a portion of the zone of the case body engaging into the annular groove. The process for joining the case body with the insert piece involves folding down the collar of the insert piece which collar originally projects essentially radially therefrom, over the case end lying in the annular groove and urging the collar from the outside against the case end while the insert piece is externally supported in a position fixed relative to the case body.
