TRAILER STAKE EXTENSION RELEASE/RESET MECHANISM Abstract of the Disclosure Trailer stake extensions are conventionally spring connected to the trailer bunk stakes and must be folded down manually. The present invention facilitates the remote release or resetting of the stake extensions relative to the stakes. A cable is connected at one end to the spring which interconnects the stake and its extension. A cable drum windably receives the opposed end of the cable. A ratchet holds the drum in a fixed, selected position. The cable is wound onto the drum to set the extension and is unwound from the drum to release the extension.
