Abstract of the Disclosure A preform of thermoplastic material composed of a number of separate part-preforms fitted into one another in readiness for blow molding to form a finished container. At least one of the part-preforms is stretched in the axial direction to provide crystallinity by monoaxial orientation. The part-preforms are singly or jointly provided with barrier layers. Different plastic materials can be used for the part-preforms as well as reprocessed plastic for one of the part-preforms. Through suitable selection of the material of the part-preforms as well as of the material of the barrier layers, it is possible to mold containers suitable for a great variety of different fields of application.
