POLYETHERS Abstract of the Disclosure The instant invention relates to a process which comprises modifying a conventional polyoxyalkylene polyol by capping all the hydroxyl groups of the polyol with benzyl, aryl, substituted benzyl, substituted aryl or alkyl groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. This process comprises reacting the conventional polyoxyalkylene polyol with an alkali metal methoxide followed by reaction with an alkali metal hydride which in turn is followed by reaction with an organic halide.
