ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A polarity indicator adapted to be mounted on a vehicle battery. A light emitting diode mounted on an elongated non-conducti- ve strip and electrically connected to two poles having conductive surfaces at each end of the strip. The poles are intended to be oriented to correspond to the polarity of the battery terminals. When the battery is depleted and needs to be boosted, the booster cables are first connected to the poles which can identify the direction of the flow of current coming from the booster cables, the latter being subsequently switch to the proper terminals of the battery.
