65702-287 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A silicon-containing copolyester in the form of a block copolymer consists of 1-99% by weight of a siloxane segment of the following general formula: Image (A) (in which R represents a hydrocarbon radical having 1-10 carbon atoms and m represents a value of 1-2000) and 99-1% by weight of a polyester segment expressed by the following general formula; Image or (B) Image (in which R1 is an aromatic bivalent radical having 6-12 carbon atoms or aliphatic bivalent radical having 4-20 carbon atoms, R2 is an aromatic bivalent radical having 6-20 carbon atoms or aliphatic bivalent radical having 2-20 carbon atoms, and n represents a value of 1-1000). The copolyester has good resistance to impact shock and to hydrolysis and is useful, for example, for molding articles.
