ABSTRACT A double edged strip (10) of blade metal is parted along a centre line and cropped to form two strips (16) each containing a series of spaced apart blades (17) connected by webs (18) to an elongate backing strip (19) of blade metal. Each strip is fed into a moulding machine in which a razor, or a shaving unit, or a blade-containing component of a shaving unit is moulded directly on to each individual blade. Each web is then parted to release the moulded razor, shaving unit, or shaving unit component, from the backing strip.
