ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to apparatus for wiping wire or strip emerging from a bath of molten metal. The apparatus includes one or more tubular housing members which extend across and above a bath of molten metal. The one or more housing members include at least one recessed section which is provided within the tubular housing and locates at least two pads of pad wiping material. At least one of the pads of pad wiping material is adjustable relative to the other from a position exterior the bath of molten metal.
